What Causes Sore Throat And Cough After Taking Genvoya?

I have been taking stribild for 3 years. My doctor wanted me to switch to genvoya about 5 weeks ago. Now it seems that I have had a bad sore throat and coughing up phlegm the last month. Did I happen to get an upper respiratory infection with cough or is this an allergic reaction to the genvoya?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms are probably related to an upper respiratory tract infection. If it was an allergic reaction it would be more short in time. I suggest you to use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day.
I also suggest drinking liquids and a lot of rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
