What Causes Sore Lymph Nodes In The Neck After Tooth Extraction?
Hi I ve just had 4 wisdom teeth extracted by my local dentist under iv sedation and anesthesia. It s 1 week since the procedure and I developed sore lymph nodes in my neck or sore throat which has developed to being flu like as I am really congested. Is this normal after wisdom teeth surgery? I also have throbbong in my lower teeth next door to where my wisdom teeth were extracted. Is this sinus or flu? How do I make it better?

Lymph nodes in the neck may get enlarged after a tooth extraction due to a possible infection. Also, a viral infection that may have developed concomitantly can be the cause.
It may be safer to take antibiotics, especially if you are having a fever or feeling unwell. Augmentin would be a good option if not allergic to penicillin.
