Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Daughter has red spots in her body from yesterday. Today I went to hospital and checked with doctor. She asked me to go for a blood test and the result came as everything normal but platelets count is 170. Actually it should be around 200 - 400. Kindly advise is it normal?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of small red spots all over the body which seems to be due to allergic reaction, sudden reaction from allergens, due to poor immunity of body and instant response of body to certain stimulus. It could be due to thrombocytopenia. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with intake of antihistamine medication such as benadryl. Apply vitamin E oil at night. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after complete examination. You can apply aloe vera gel on them as well. You should avoid excessive exposure to sunlight. Avoid touching or pricking skin with any sharp object. Drink plenty of water. You can take Allegra as well and start application of clindamycin gel on these areas.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
