What Causes Skin Tag In The Back Of Mouth?

I discovered a little piece of skin in the back of my mouth on my left side.It doesn't hurt or anything but it isn't going away either. I can wiggle it with my tongue. It started out being pink but today it was lighter in color! Should I be concerned?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a small piece of skin that is painless can be due to TISSUE HYPERPLASIA and happens commonly due to trauma to the mucosa in that region by either cheek bite or due to injury by harp edges of tooth and can lead to overgrowth of the mucosa as well as fibrous tissue leading to formation of Oral Fibroma..
It can also be due to inflamed minor salivary gland in that region as a result of trauma..

You need not to worry and consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case of fibroma a minor surgical process to remove the growth can be done under local anesthesia which can be further send for boipsy..
In case of inflamed salivary gland taking antibiotics like amoxicillin and salt water rinses can relieve..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
