What Causes Sinus Pain Along With Fever And Joint Pain?

good evening, i went to my local walk in this past Saturday. Symptoms... sinus pain, fever , joint pain, and uncontrollable coughing spasm. A 3 min. visit with MD and was told a severe sinus infevtion with alot of draining. was prescribed ...levocetirizine2.5 mg/5ml 1 tsp at bed time ,cephalexin 500 mg cap. 2 /day, and fluticasone nose spray, 1 shot each side once a day. it has been 6 days and i don't feel any better. my caogh has become worse to the point , my spasms are so bad i now have headaches from wrenching so bad. cough is non productive, and it will not allow me sleep at night. every time i lay down can hear wheezesand then the spasm begins. I'm not one for going to doctors ,this reminds me why. I will not run up a medical bill only for a hit and miss /maybe diagnoses.what can i take tonight to help me sleep and at least calm the coughing spasms? help

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms have been diagnosed right of having sinus infection or sinusitis but it seems that along with it there seems to be upper respiratory tract infection or bronchitis or lung infection along with it..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolargngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you investigations like sputum culture, chest x ray, PNS Viiew x ray or MRI scan to help in confirming the diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to continue antibiotics like Cephalexin, anti allergics like Levocetrizine, steroid spray like Fluticasone..
You can also be advised to take cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan and expectorant like Gueifenesin..
Do steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
Take decongestant like Phenylephrine..
Do warm compresses over chest..
Sip on warm water and avoid spicy and chilled foods.
Chew Vitamin C pellet daily..
