General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Shortness of breath along with fluid buildup in the abdomen is concerning for possible right heart dysfunction. Reduced liver and kidney function can also contribute to such symptoms. Your husband requires extensive evaluation including echocardiogram, chest x-ray, complete metabolic profile. Please be advised to follow up with his primary provider as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
