What Causes Shortness Of Breath After A Head Injury?

Hi, I fell down the stairs three days ago and was seen by a paramedic after cutting open my head. They saw to my head wound which is now on the mend but my chest is tight and heavy to breath when laying down. I cant see any bruising so wondered if it might be something else?

Hello,

If the pain is only when you lay down and not in exercise very likely you are having a panic attack which is related to anxiety. The event you had might have caused this and is nothing to worry as long as the episodes of chest tightness last only a few minutes and get better when you get up.

If they are not improving in 1-2 weeks or you notice they are getting more often or worse, you might need to talk to your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
