What Causes Sharp Pain In The Upper Back And Vomiting?

My friend (female age 58) was at work and then had a sharp pain in her upper left back and felt sick to her stomach. She drove herself home and has been throwing up. The doctor cannot see her until tomorrow at 9:50 AM. They think it might be a muscle spasm. However, my friend s mother, now deceased, had heart issues. Should I bring her to Emergency Care? Just talked to her and still throwing up.

You should bring her to ed because this can be a case of severe gastritis or pancreatitis or may be Gastroenteritis.I don't think it may be a heart attack because she may be having other symptoms like palpitation(fast heart beat)sweating arm or chest pain breathlessness also this much vomiting doesn't usually occur in heart attack.Ya but get her to show to a dr. as i can't say exactly what it is without her being giving me the history.
