What Causes Shakiness After Taking Amoxicillin For Bronchitis?

Hi...I was prescribed amoxicillin 500mg for bronchitis...it made me shaky...so I called the clinic but my Dr. was out so a different Dr. Prescribed me cephalexin 500mg...now I don't know if I should take it cuz I'm scared it will make me feel like the amoxicillin did...what are your thoughts on this

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms Amoxicillin is a penicillin group of antibiotic while Cephelexin is a Cephalosporin and both belongs to different group of antibiotics.So in case if amoxicillin has caused an allergic reaction it is not necessary that cephelexin will also cause the same..

But in case if you are scared of having an allergic reaction you can consult an allergic medicine specialist and he can advise you to get an allergic sensitivity testing done in which it will be ruled out that whether cephelexin will cause allergic reaction to you or not.

Nothing to worry an individual can be allergic to any particular grup of antibiotic and the other group might have no adverse reaction at all..
In case of allergic symptoms anti-histamines or anti-allergics like cetrizine can be taken.
