I have had sore mouth for months, have been tested for vitamin deficiency but they were okay. My tongue feels scalded and gets sore bumps, the inside of my cheeks get sore spots and ridges that swell up and I bite them as I chew. What should I have my doctor look for or what do you think this is ????

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain you are suffering from APTHOUS STOMATITIS and Nutritional Deficiencies like that of Vitamin B12, Folic Acid and Iron are the main ones deficiencies of which lead to inflammation and soreness in mouth along with formation of painful blisters..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and get necessary investigations done..
For nutritional deficiencies the doctor can advise you to take Multivitamin and iron supplements as per your requirement..
Along with it take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses and avoid junk food and packed food as it lacks nutritional value..
Home cooked food is the best..
Take sufficient rest and avoid Stress by doing meditation and yoga..
For sure mouth symptomatic treatment can be:
-Do warm saline gargles..
-Use numbing mouth washes for gargles as it will relieve pain and discomfort..
-Sucking ice pops and drinking plenty of cold water will help..
- Avoid spicy ,hot food, stay away from smoking, tobacco chewing and alcohol..
-You can take Ibuprofen for pain relief..

Hope this information helps..
