What Causes Severe Snoring With Drooling And Occasional Choking?
Hi, my 3yr old son very seldom breathes through his nose, he is a very noisy sleeper/breather and often when sleeping he stops breathing and after a few seconds gasps loudly in between snores. His breathing sounds more like a rattle than a wheeze and we have had inhalers from our GP as he thinks it asthma related although there seems to be very little improvement. Other symtoms include drooling, choking occasionally when eating and his speech is sometimes hard to understand. Could it be adenoid related?

What Causes Severe Snoring With Drooling And Occasional Choking?
Hello, He may be suffering from breathing passage narrowing may be due to turbinate hypertrophy or adenoids or bronchitis or lax pharynx etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please take him to your physician/ENT specialist they will examine the nasal and oral cavity then they treat him accordingly. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
