What Causes Severe Pain On The Throat And Neck With GERD?

Hi, I am a 38 old male. I am being treated for GERD with Nexium 40mg once daily. My reflux can lead to wheezing and coughing episodes. What concerns me is a sharp pain in troat, in the neck area. It is not painful when I wake up, usually after I eat and then will go away until I drink water or eat again. Is this most likely a side effect of my reflux?

hi
yes this is a side effect of reflux disease.
what i think is that you are on a antacid which is a proton pump inhibitor.
according to me you require a combination of antiemetic and proton pump inhibitor.
i would suggest you to visit your doctor once again and explain him about this.
regards
