What Causes Severe Pain In The Abdomen?

I have a friend who has severe abdominal pain. She has been to OBGYN, Gastro, and family physician. Nothing has been diagnosed but nothing has been ruled out except cancer. Its not Diverticulitis, it s not polyups. She has no appendix or gallbladder. Female, age 36, one child, started as constipation, then onset of severe pain that no-one can figure out. She has headaches and nausea associated with the pain. I asked today what level of pain she is at and she said a 6 after a week of level 10 pain. She is on antibiotics but it s only slightly helping but no-one can figure out her what is causing her pain. One doctor sends her to another doctor. Any suggestions to have her go back to her doctors with?

Hi,

For abdominal pain, mostly appendix, diverticulitis etc has to be ruled out first. But you should have a look for uterine anomaly mostly endometriosis or atonic uterus etc. Also look for various cancer of abdomen and uterus. Do CT scan and MRI of abdomen. Rule out urinary tract infection also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
