What Causes Severe Left Leg Pain?

i keep having these pains in my left leg like if someone is snapping a rubber band at it. right in a certain area where there is varicose veins at. it rather annoying. at first i thought something bit me but it continues to do it while i was cooking and standing. thank you for any help.

if you have varicose veins, then the pain is due to this only, but it needs to be evaluated properly by the help of duplex Doppler test to rule out deep vein thrombosis. which can be limb threatening and life threatening also if the thrombocytopenia bus dislodges and gets lodged in lungs.,which will cause pulmonary thromboembolism.
