What Causes Severe Itching And Rashes In The Groin Area?

Dear Dr, I am taking macox plus 600, combutol 1000 along with benadone for last 6 months and previously corse of AKT3 as prescribed by doc. However for last 2 months facing severe itching in groin area, sometimes rashes also. Taken a regular course of xdene, fungizole tabs and applied amortive cream prescribed by a skin dr but little improvement. Now I feel strongly that this may be an aftereffect of the anti TB medicine I am taking. Pls advice what to do as cannot stop the course of this medicine.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, anti tubercular drugs like isoniazid, pyrazinamide and rifampicin can cause skin itching and rashes.
Since these are essential tubercular drugs, we can not stop them.
So we are giving antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti allergic (montelukast) combination.
Mometasone cream is also effective for local application for itching.
Also wear cotton undergarments only.
Avoid moisture and perspiration in private parts. Keep proper hygiene of private part.
Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep your self hydrated.
Sit in warm water with antiseptic solution for at least 10 minutes in a day.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
