What Causes Severe Itchiness On The Foot?

Hello, I have a skin problem. T sides of my foot soles and my toes as well as my fingers become so itchy. Then, as I would scratch the itchy area, it thickens thickens and suddenly cracks. It would always undergo the same process- itchy then thickens then cracks, vice versa. At first, I thought it is just fungal infection so I use Ketonazole but it just helps to make the area thin again but still itchy. I still continue to use Ketonazole up to now. Is this an allergy? I got this only when I turned 18. I had this for almost two years. My friend who has a similar problem with mine suggests me to have Diprospan Ampul injection. Will it help me?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello, i would adv you to get a KOH scraping done from the area to rule out tinea pedis, because if so, treatment for this requires systemic antifungals rather than just topical ketoconazole.
I would say not to go for any steroid or injectables, before Tinea is ruled out because it leads to modification of clinical picture known as tinea incognito.
So, consult a dermatologist as soon as possible for you for evaluation and appropriate treatment according to the diagnosis.
thanks
Take care
