What Causes Severe Itchiness In The Vagina?

Hi, I had a pap smear about to week ago, now I feel an annoying itch/ tingle near opening of vagina. It doesn t hurt just a little tingle after I wipe? I haven t had any unusual discharge redness or sores. i doesnt burnwhen i urinate. Only when i sit for a long time theres a little tingle and when i wipe. Could I have gotten cut from the speculum? It was plastic.

Hi,

It could be infective causes like a yeast infection.

Consult a gynecologist and get a vaginal swab done to confirm the diagnosis.

As of now, use Clotrimazole lotion to cleanse your genitals.

Always keep good sexual hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
