Hello,

Yes, Parkinson's disease does present with constipation & gastric problems. It is good to know that you have an active life and are doing exercises with the help of a physiotherapist, do continue.

Take fiber in your diet. Take small bites & chew properly before swallowing. Formulate a diet & treatment plan with the help of a GP & nutritionist & follow it.

Take PPI's & antacids for relieve. Avoid constipation (take laxatives at bed time). Take balanced diet.

Avoid drinks(alcohol), cut on smoking, stay away from addictions if any. Do not take NSAIDS, it may trigger gastritis.

You are suggested to clinically examined by a GP to rule our gastric or peptic ulcer. Neglect may lead to worsening of the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
