What Causes Severe Fatigue While Suffering From Pancreatitis?

Hello I was diagnosed with pancreatitis in after this past Chritsmas season.I had gone to a ER and had blood work .Im a 60 year old female and was becoming very exhausted at times during working my pt job.I admit I had over done celebrating my 60 Birthday and Christmas with all the rich food and drinking which started from May to Christmas actually. I had my gallbladder removed 2 half weeks ago and 3 stones.Seems like I only have symptoms when I have something thats not vegan or dairy products.I am 5/9 and tipped the scales at 200 lbs by the time the Holidays were over I am exersizing about 3 to 4 times a week now.Is it a little to late for me or will my symptons end.Im praying.

Hi,

This may indicate chronic pancreatitis which is caused either by alcohol consummation or biliary stones.

In most cases, it can be regulated by medications which include insulin supplements and enzymes for digestion. Also, alcohol is forbidden in these cases and you should eat less fatty food, less sugar and more vegetables and boiled food. Also, avoid cytotoxic medications.

If there is no improvement then surgical therapy may be considered and include drainage procedures or pancreas resection. This is the last option and you should consult your doctor about this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
