What Causes Severe Diarrhoea After Taking Mucinex DM?

I just had a severe uncontrollable bout of diarrhea I believe it is from Mucinex DM which I had taken a few hours before. Will I continue to have diarrhea I had no warning and how do I get the Mucinex out of my system? I am afraid to leave my house

Hello,

Mucinex is having N acetylcysteine (NAC). It is an antioxidant drug. It is not known to cause diarrhoea.

So I don't think your diarrhoea is due to Mucinex. You might have eaten something wrong which is causing diarrhoea. Drink plenty of fluids orally. Start oral rehydration solution and zinc tablet.

Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
