What Causes Severe Cramps In The Calf And Extreme Weight Loss?

Hi My husband is a 54 year old Black male who is experiencing severe leg cramps in the calf and behind the knee. He has recently had an extreme weight loss of over 20 pounds within the last two months. His Dr. says that it is due to Hyperglycemia. I really think it s more and I am really comcerned about the sudden weight loss

Given the history of weight loss and cramping in his leg, it could be from malnutrition and electrolyte imbalance. Seeking a second opinion could never hurt or atleast ask your primary care for set of basic blood work to rule out other disease process such as cancer, anemia, diabetes etc
