What Causes Severe Cough After Replaced Pace Maker?

Hi, my grandma had her spleen taken out about 4years ago and ever since then she has had this dry cough that she just cannot seem to shake. 2wks ago she had her pace maker replaced, and her cough has gotten worse. Do you think this is simply from the anaesthetic tracheal tube or do you think there could be some other underlying problem? Her dr has checked her lungs etc and everything seems fine to him. Should she perhaps get an X-ray or scan of some form? Thank you

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query. Yes post surgery anesthesia can cause cough. But not for so long. May be drug induced. Please check the medications she is taking and consult with the doctor. Thanks
