Hello, My husband is suddenly experiencing sensitivity in a particular area in the stomach. Right side of the navel. Its sensitive only to light rubbing, cloth touching the area etc. There is no pain when we given pressure in the same place. Please help... Is it something to worry about.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your husband having typical pain on right side of abdomen particularly increased sensitivity to touch, rubbing of shirt. This is albeit a short and specific query. Such a thing can occur due to the increased sensitivity of the sensory nerves supplying this particular area. And this can occur in the following conditions: Shingles or Herpes Zoster. Nerve root compression. Hence I would advise you the following: Clinical evaluation, actual examination. If required MRI of the thoraco- lumbar region. Examination neurological. Treatment as per the findings.
