What Causes Runny Nose, Congestion, Headache And Cough?

My husband and I just returned from France and have contracted a cold virus - runny nose, congestion, cough, headache, ear ache, and frequent urination, sometimes uncontrolled - for both of us. Could a virus give us these symptoms? We were not on a farm but in the city in France.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The common cold is a viral illness. It would cause the runny nose, nasal congestion, cough, headache and ear pain ( though ear pain may sometimes occur with bacterial infection as well).

Frequent urination can occur with urinary tract infection which is a bacterial infection that would require antibiotic therapy.
A urine test at your doctor's office would determine if a urinary tract infection is present.

I hope this helps
