What Causes Runny Nose Along With Pain In The Cheek And Head?

Hi . I have just had a pink runny liquid drip out of my nose , earlier it was dripping in my throat . I've had a pain in my upper right cheek and side of my face and head .

This has happened before on a few occasions with no other symptoms .

What should I do ?

Hi,

As per your complain it seems that pink liquid dripping from the nose that was previously dripping in throat or post nasal drip along with pain in upper right cheek and side of face and neck seems to be most probably due to sinus infection or Sinusitis.

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.

You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room. You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline. Avoid spicy and chilled foods. Do warm compresses around nostrils.
