What Causes Red Welts Under The Jawline And Neck?

I have been waking up for a long time with red welts under my jawline and on my neck. Have tried different medications but the condition is still the same. The welts seem to subside during the day and return at different times, but always every morning, when I wake up, they are there to various degrees. The itching and later soreness is really tiresome to deal with. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to hives due to an allergic reaction. I suggest using Cetirizine 10 mg to prevent the itching.

I also suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application. If the symptoms continue, I suggest seeing a dermatologist for a physical examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
