What Causes Red Rashes On The Upper Thighs And Chest While On Amoxicillin?

I finished taking a 7 day treatment of oral Amoxicillin/Clavulanate tablets 875 mg a few days ago for a bacterial infection. About the last day of taking tablets, I started getting a red rash on upper thighs and chest. I feel fine and the rash is not uncomfortable. I wonder if it is ok to wait to call until Monday about the rash. I am allergic to Sulfa.

Hello,
I Hope the rash is fine now.

Very commonly patients are allergic to Amoxicillin. Most likely even you are allergic to penicillin class of drugs.

Next time be cautious before starting with antibiotics and tell the doctor if any particular drug doesn't suit you.

You can take levocetrizine tablet or any other anti-allergic.

Take care and wishing you a fast revovery
