What Causes Red Bump Near Clitoris?

Hi, so I just stepped out of the shower from washing up and I examined my body per usual, however I noticed a red bump, just above my clitoris. Itis sore to the touch. It s just a red fleshy bump. It could just be irritated skin? Or should I be worried ? For the record I m a vergin, and am freaking out.

Hallow Dear,

You seem to have a skin infection above the clitoral area - mons venerum. It is most likely to be hair root infection. Sometimes either by pulling hair inadvertently hair gets uprooted and the infection takes place. The other possibility is that if you shave the part regularly, during shaving you might have hurt the skin which got infected.

To treat such infections, local antibiotics cream is good enough. If local antibiotics do not work, you may have to take systemic antibiotics - orally.

Please do not ignore it nor delay it lest the risk of abscess formation.

I hope this helps you.
