What Causes Recurring Tooth Infection?

Hi. I have a shadow in a gum xray, I will be having a root canal this week which I agree with. The tooth is sensitive & threatens becoming inflamed easily. My question is whether this wannabe or mild recurring infection could have been affecting my general health. It was treated with antibiotics abt 4 years ago & I have just generally felt slightly rundown ever since. Thank you!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain if you have an infected tooth which get flared up again and again then it should be treated soon as at times if the infection becomes aggressive there can be SEPTICEMIA and can lead to fever and lethargy and dizziness but if it is happening from 4 hours you should consult a general physician and get evaluated for the other possible causes of it as if you have started feeling unwell after taking antibiotics even the side effects does not continue for such a long period of time and you need to get a complete body checkup done but keep a note that you should tell about the antibiotic which you have taken after which you became unwell so that it is not further advised to you..
As now you are getting the root canal treatment done your tooth will be free of infection and if it is the cause of not being well you should be fine after treatment..

Hope this information helps..
