What Causes Recurring Throbbing Pain In Lower Pelvic Area?

I have been seen by OB for a pain in my lower, close to pelvic area. They found no symptoms of reproductive issues and my urine sample looked clean, but I still have the pain. It s intermittent and feels like a throbbing pain. Feels similar to when I ve had a uti. However, I m wondering if it s a muscle strain. Does anything with the digestive tract get inflamed that might cause this? Discomfort in that area started a month or so ago when I was sleeping in a tent, had to pee really bad but didn t want to get out and the next morning my stomach hurt really bad from that pressure. Can one ever tear/inflame/strain their bladder and urinary tract? What about other muscle strains? It feels like it goes from the bottom of my stomach area, but more internally than the stomach, down to my pelvis and out towards my vulva. Thanks. It was worse the last couple of days. Maybe after exercising more? I can t pin point what dietary factor might cause more or less pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about pain in pelvic area that started after you had to hold urine for a long time in tent, Gynecologist opinion negative, Urine is normal, deep pelvic pain that goes to vulva.
The causes I can think about with the history that you have provided are as follows:
Bladder muscle spasms also called as irritable bladder.
Pelvic Inflammatory disease.
Inflammation of small intestine or diverticulitis of large bowel that has stuck with urinary bladder.
All these can be diagnosed by the following:
Consult a General Surgeon for examination and further investigations as follows:
CT scan of abdomen.
Tests of blood.
Tests of stool and urine.
Cysto-urethroscopy.
Any other investigations as might be suggested by your Doctors.
All these will lead to a probable diagnosis so that an appropriate management can be given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
