Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as you had a bacterial infection of the parotid gland for which you were treated with amoxicillin, it is true that 250 mg is a lesser dose and atleast 500mg thrice a day should be taken for complete eradication of infection..
As during the last infection after taking medicine the infection went down considerably you became symptom free but there must be some residual infection left out and now when the bacterial count became considerably high there is relapse of infection..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get thoroughly evaluated clinically as well as get a blood culture done, a saliva cullture can also be diagnostic..
For bacterial infection Augmentin 625mg three times a day, if there is pain Ibuprofen 400mg thrice a day and Pantoprazole 40mg once in morning empty stomach, all of these medicines taken for atleast 10 days will relieve you..
Along with it drink plenty of water and maintain a proper oral hygiene..
Do warm saline gargles as well as betadine gargles..

Hope this information helps..
