What Causes Recurring Fever, Headache, Painful Chest And Cough In A Child?
My 8 year old son has had an intermittent fever, 38.5 to 39.2 degrees since Wednesday, usually in the afternoon but settles with panadol. He has also been complaining of a headache at the same time as the fever. Since Friday he has developed a cough, he says his chest hurts when he breathes, I m presuming from the coughing? He seemed to turn the corner yesterday and didn t have a fever, but he did today. He hasn t had his normal appetite either. Any thoughts?

It looks more of viral aetiology. Cough without sputum.comtinue on antipyretics 4 times a day. Good hydration is very much important with a viral infection. If Fever not subsiding go for tepid sponging. Get complete blood counts done as soon as possible if fever doSent subside
