What Causes Recurrent Rigors And Loss Of Appetite?

My father, 86 - in the last three days had rigors ( without any reason - it s not cold in the house). He did not have fever but very intense transpiration. He lost apatite but he does not look to have a cold, no cough, no running nose. fever etc., no urinary problems, no pains in the body. What can be the cause of the repeated rigors?! Thank you for your help! Gabriela

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that he might be having some systemic infection in the body giving rise rigors even though he is not having fever.
He might require few investigations like,
complete blood checking, TC,DC, ESR,MP,
routine urine check up,
Prostate check up for enlarge prostate and infection,
give him light diet and enough water.
Ok and take care.
