What Causes Recurrent Irregularity In Period Cycle?
Hi, I m a 41 yr old woman that s been experiencing irregular cycles in my period for over a year. They have been occurring more frequently (sometimes every two weeks) and sometimes heavier. But occasionally within the normal time frame of 21 -28 days.I have yet to start my period this cycle (1day late).I am sexually active but bf has had a vasctomy.Could I be experiencing peri-menopause? I have taken hpt to be certain and negative result.

As you have reached the age of above 40 years , i would say YES Peri menopause is also a possibility in your case as it is very likely that your levels of progesterone and estrogen hormones might be diminishing which may be the reason why u r experiencing it
but Irregular Menstrual Periods can be Caused by many other things including- Poly cystic ovary Syndrome (PCOS) ,Overactive thyroid or hyperthyroidism ,Uterine fibroid , and it needs thorough medical check up and investigations to spot a confirm diagnosis
i would strongly suggest you to see a Gynecologist , he will examine you thoroughly and may go for an Ultra sound , some blood tests for thyroid functions and all other necessary medical investigations to rule out any underlying medical condition
