What Causes Rectal Bleeding Without Passing Bowels?

For the past 2 days I have noticed rectal bleeding without a bowel movement. I am 43 years old/female. sometimes when I go to the restroom I wipe my rectal area even though I didn t have a bowel movement because I have noticed blood on the tissue. It started yesterday, I had a bowel movement and there was a lot of blood in the toilet.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thanks for being part of our virtual clinic!

As your virtual doctor, I need to know

Do you have anal sharp pain while defecating? Have you suffered from chronic constipation or hemorrhoids? If yes, it may be an anal fissure

Have you lately had abdominal pain? Loss of weight?

Do you have familiar history on colon-rectal problems?

Physical examination, Rectal touche, Colonoscopy, Blood analysis would help find the truth

You need medical help. We are here to support you too.

Best Regard!
