I had my first ever surgery a few days ago. While under anesthesia I developed a rash. I often get rashes due to autoimmune issues. But apparently I was given Benedryl. I still have a rash on my left arm and up behind my left ear. What do I do about this and also what can I do in the future to protect myself against this happening again?
hi, thank you for posting your query on HCM. as per your history, you have allergic reaction due to anaesthesia. -- here, I would like to know about autoimmune disease which you are talking about. -- have you been on any medication for the same? my treatment advise would be: - consult a dermatologist nearby for proper treatment. -if it is due to anaesthesia, you may apply a topical corticosteroids like betamethasone valerate (0.1%) cream twice a day. - also, you may take tab levocetrizine once a day for itching. - allergy can only be prevented by avoiding allergen that causes it. wishing you good health. thank you.
