What Causes Rashes On The Arm And Swelling On The Face?

My 9 yr old son just came home from a week with His dad according to his Father he noticed the light rash on his arm Sunday and the swelling of the face on Monday. I have used some over the counter allergy meds which worked slightly but the swelling and rash came back my son feels okay no fever no pain and the rash is not itchy what could this be should I take him to urgent care?

Thanks for contacting with your health concern

1. As there is the history of rash/swelling, it could be eczema, contact dermatitis, seasonal allergy, insect bite, stings.

PS. although your son is Okay, even then exclude 'Anaphylactic reaction' [probably angioneurotic edema] for which kindly seek emergency services. [as the symptoms returned after general measures taken]

2. Contact a health care professional or hospital emergency department since his symptoms didn't get better with treatment and returned.
