What Causes Rapid Heart Beat, Nausea, Abdominal Pain And Breathing Difficulty?

I had an attack of some sort last night. Started with rapid heart beat. Soon became nauseous. I fought the need to throw up. I felt that if I could have a bowel movement I could prevent regurgitation. I was also experiencing abdominal discomfort. Then my face became extremely red ! My hands started to itch and painfully so. My neck started to itch as well. My lungs felt dry and I had difficulty breathing. No chest pain. I kept trying to cool my skin with a damp cloth.

Hello,

All your symptoms may be caused by any of these causes like acute angina, arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, anxiety disorder, acute gastritis, esophageal spasm, acute pericarditis, hyperthyroidism or thyrotoxicosis.

To those patients who come to my clinic with similar symptoms, I would recommend ECG, chest X-ray, 2D echocardiography, complete blood picture, thyroid function tests and troponin tests. Please do consult a physician for further evaluation and an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
