What Causes Quiver On The Upper Lip Near The Nose?
I have a quiver on my upper left lip, right beside the bridge of my nose. It has been doing it on and off now for 2 weeks. Will sometimes last for 15 to 30 minutes, quit for several hours and then start again. it has not happened now for 4 days and all of a sudden started again about 15 minutes ago.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Quiver on the upper lip near the nose may occur due to hypoparathyroidism. This causes low level of calcium in blood due to which parasthesia or pricking sensations occur.
It can also occur because of certain stimulus. It can be because of facial nerve damage, allergic reaction or stress. Nothing to worry, it will get resolved soon.
You can take anti-histamines like Levocetrizine or Allegra, do cool compresses over the lip, apply Calamine lotion to soothe the skin and drink plenty of water. In case of no improvement, consult an Allergist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
