What Causes Pulse Feeling On Top Of Left Foot?

Hi there, lately I have been feeling a pulse on top of my left foot. I feel it the most everytime that I stand up to walk. But once I sit down it goes away. I am of a normal size, 5 10 and 148 lbs. So it is not a weight issue. Do you have any idea what this might be and should I be concerned?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are not suggestive of any medical disorders. Anyway, I would recommend performing a Doppler ultrasound of your leg vessels in order to exclude any possible varicose veins or peripheral arteriopathy. Other tests to consider would be: inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR), uric acid levels, vitamin D and blood electrolytes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
