What Causes Pruritus And Muscle Pain?

83 yr old M; chronic congestive heart failure secondary to MI 20 yrs ago. doing well but on Cozaar,coreg, pravachol for years.. no drug problem But 3 weeks ago developed generalized puritus, rash, severe ,with sub q muscle pain. Dermatologist said toxic skin reaction;; to what? Pick a drug you think likely or any thought you might have. Thanks

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, Hydroxyzine, should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
