What Causes Prolonged Hiccups During Typhoid Fever?

Sir,my father is of 52 years.from last 4 days he got regular hiccup continue to 2-3 hours..and sometime with interval of 1 hour .he has typhide also..we dont understand anything and very confused..he is unable to eat anything due to vomitting tendency...is hiccup normal?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Generally acid reflux produce the hiccups.
Absence of activity and antibiotic use during typhoid produce acid reflux.
Acid irritate the lower esophageal end and diaphragm and produce hiccup.

Take following advise:
Tablet esmoprazole + domperidone before the meal
Syrup mucaine gel 30 minutes before meal
Take plenty of dietary fibres with supplemsnts like senna
f not resolves then
Take Tablet baclofen
