What Causes Prolonged Heavy Vaginal Bleeding?

I had my last period 15 months ago. I have had heavy bleeding for the past month, bright red with clots.. Called my gym and she can t see me until nov. Then she will do us and biopsy. I am worried waiting that long. Is it more likely to be cancer if it is heavy and lasts that long?

Hello

Prolonged heavy bleeding may be due to problem in uterus, cervix etc.
You may need clinical examination and investigations.
Ultrasound of pelvis should be done initially.
Other investigations like hysteroscopy,Pap smear etc may be needed after evaluation.
You may need biopsy of endometrium or cervix depending upon findings.
It is too early to comment on benign or malignant nature of lesions.
Proper treatment depend upon findings.

Get well soon.
Take Care
