What Causes Prolonged Bleeding During Periods?

Hi I am having bleeding since 15 days it doesn t stop what shall I do . This prob is happening since 1 year if I need to stop I have to take primolet n . Is it safe to take this pill every time . What can I do to regularize my periods like 5 days normal cycle

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Prolonged bleeding happening repeatedly what you are experiencing despite taking medication needs to be evaluated.
It could be due to 'Dysfunctional uterine bleeding' (DUB) caused by changes in hormone levels. For this you need to check your Serum FSH, LH and prolactin levels.
The other cause could be due to endometrial hyperplasia or fibroid in uterus. To know about this, you need to get an ultrasound abdomen done.
Kindly get the above two investigations done and consult Gynecologist for appropriate management.
