Hi, I m 21 and experiencing a lot of problems with my periods. I didn t have periods for 3 months and finally when it came, it has been continuing for almost 2 months now. Blood flow was light in the beginning with just spotting sometimes, but now I lose a lot of fresh blood daily, I have to change pads at least 3 tyms a day. The discharge is too heavy and I m always tired to wake up.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
YOU seem to have such heavy periods due to - hormonal imbalance ( PCOD/ Ovarian / thyroid causes ) , fibroid uterus, incomplete abortion.
You should-
Take bed rest, light nutritive diet, plenty of fluids.
You can add Cap CVP gynae 2 capsules three times a day after food. OR Mephanamic acid preparation twice a day. This will mostly reduce bleeding.
After getting some control / if this no relief within 2 days...ere I would advise you to co9nsult a gynecologist. After a detailed physical examination/ investigations ( hgormonal assessment/ USG abdomen / Hb % & CBC)you will be given cause specific treatment to relieve you completely.
thanks.
