What Causes Pressure In The Eyes And Swollen Veins On The Temple?

Hi, I feel a pushing force behind the eye, hard to raise eyebrows, also feel a bot of pressure from within the eye and head. Veins on the temples get swollen and feels connected to eye swelling. Eye sometimes gets redder and the temple veins feel larger in size from swelling but occasionally reduces in size. Hope you can find a cause to this, I also started using debrox in my right ear, but I don t have any ear pain except some earwax blockage, I also have no fever symptoms or cold symptoms. thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I will recommend you to get your blood pressure and intraocular pressure checked. Along with that get your thyroid profile, renal function tests and liver function tests along with ESR and CRP to check for any inflammatory process to be involved like temporal arteritis. Further you have to work with your physician to find out the exact cause and hence the treatment. The kind of symptoms that you are having may have multiple etiologies, hence cannot be diagnosed by only symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
