Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Sinus Issues While Having Hydrocephalus?
I have Hyrdocephalus. I am 34 years old. Ever since I was 14 I have had what I call Sinus issues. Constant sniffing and snorting. I have had 3 sinus operations in the last 20 years. Nothing has helped. My sniffing is worse than ever and I am starting to think it may be realted to Tourettes rather than Sinus issues. Is Tourettes and hydrocephalus related.
It is typically sinusitis and this too mainly secondary to deviated nasal septum. It is not associated with hydrocephalus. For symptomatic relief try using steam inhalation.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
