What Causes Persistent Pain In The Upper Abdomen On The Right Side?

I am having mild persistent pain in my upper right abdominal area and my lipase test came back slightly elevated. I had an ultrasound which found a fatty liver. Can the pain and elevated lipase be attributed to fatty liver disease? and how should it be treated? My doctor told me to double my cholesterol reducing pills...

Hello,

High lipase is mostly related to the pancreas and probably having tests to rule out problems with pancreas are advisable like blood amylase as well.

Fatty liver is generally related to other conditions like obesity, alcohol use, diabetes, etc and treatment of the causing condition is the cornerstone in treating fatty liver.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
