What Causes Persistent Pain In Knee Joint?

Hello, Im 59 years old, male, 6 00 250 lbs, mostly healthy, fairly active, play golf weekly, still employed, walk 2 or 3 times a week. Have been getting pains in one knee, but not in the joint, more in bone just below the knee joint. The bone actually seems tender to the touch, some days worse than others, but it never keeps me from doing anything I want, but the pain in the bone is what concerns me, if it was the joint I would assume arthritis, even slightly in the left leg also.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm,
I really appreciate your concern,
I would suggest you to get MRI of the knee joint to check if there is any ligament or meniscus injury is there.
If yes then it will need treatment from arthroscopic surgeon.
If reports comes normal then you will need analgesics and rest and physiotherapy.Following exercise will help you.
1.Static quadriceps
2. hamstring strengthening
Also take tablet Dicerin 100 mg per day .
Avoid squatting and cross leg sitting.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
thanks.regards.
