What Causes Persistent Pain In Abdomen Along With Lack Of Appetite?

i had a surgery done for my intestine 8 months ago in which a small part of my intestine was removed, I was diagnosed with Chrons disease, i still get sharp pain on the right side of my stomach, I did an ultra sound on the advice of my doctor, the tests showed that there was gas trapped in the intestinal loops. My doctor told me to take flatuna 3 times a day for a month, but the pain in my stomach still persists.. please help me and guide what i need to do next, as i feel like vomiting all the time and have no appetite

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

The issue seems to be excessive gas accumulation causing abdominal bloating, possibly even tenderness and thus a drop in appetite. But I would also advise an upper abdominal endoscopy just as a diagnostic test to help rule out any abnormalities with the upper GIT.

Once this is done and an upper GI endoscopy is ruled out, then we can purely suspect the gas accumulation to be the cause for your symptoms. Eat a high fibre diet, drink plenty of fluids, avoid spicy food, avoid smoking, avoid alcohol, avoid fatry/fried/oily food, and go about mild exercises to promote quick digestion and prevent stagnation of food.

Best wishes.
